CFS looks to expand V6 Bomber Division to include more Domestic Class Cars and Trucks Up to 4.3L Displacement

As racing enthusiasts look for fresh experiences, it becomes vital to adapt the rules in this inexpensive and fun to drive class of vehicles to allow for more variety and opportunity.

This blog post explores the benefits of such an expansion, the types of vehicles that could enter the fold, and the effects on competitors and fans.

The Current Landscape of the Bomber Division

Traditionally, the Bomber division has focused on a narrow selection of vehicle types and engine sizes. While this has created a unique racing experience, it has also limited diversity on the track. Currently, the rules cater to just a handful of vehicles, leading to predictable races and reduced excitement.

By broadening the rules to include more domestic cars, we hope to inject new energy into the Bomber division. This change, we hope, will not only attract a larger pool of participants but also engage fans who appreciate the wider variety of makes and models.

Benefits of Expanding the Rules

Increased Participation

One major benefit of expanding the Bomber division's rules is the potential for heightened participation. More drivers can compete if a wider range of domestic cars is allowed. For instance, introducing cars like the Dodge Dart or Ford Taurus could invite many enthusiasts. This inclusivity fosters a vibrant racing community, bringing together fans from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for motorsports but can't necessarily afford or dont want to spend large sums of money to play.

Enhanced Competition

A diverse mix of vehicles can enrich competition on the track. Different cars bring various strengths and designs to the table, leading to more thrilling races for participants and fans. Imagine rivalries developing between a rear wheel drive Chevy S10 and a Ford Ranger or a FWD V6 Chrysler 300. It is out intent that this expansion promotes exciting matchups that keep both competitors and spectators on their toes.

Broader Audience Appeal

Adding more domestic class cars can attract a wider audience. With different makes and models represented, fans are more likely to attend races to see their favorite vehicles. In fact, events that feature diverse car types see attendance increases of up to 30% on average. Greater interest translates into bigger crowds and expanded support for the Bomber division.

Types of Domestic Class Cars and Trucks to Consider

When thinking about which vehicles to welcome into the expanded Bomber division, my focus has been on cars that are available in quantity and inexpensive with engine sizes up to 4.3 liters that a broad section of the public can relate to. We want this to be appealing, affordable and competitive.

Compact and Mid-Size Sedans

While muscle cars make headlines, compact and mid-size sedans can generate excitement too. Vehicles like the Chevy S10, Buick Riveria and Ford Ranger have durability potential for racing. Their inclusion could diversify the competition and showcase the capabilities of everyday domestic vehicles, appealing to a wider segment of fans.

Addressing Concerns and Challenges

Safety Considerations

Safety must remain a top priority when expanding the rules. Different types of vehicles can come with various safety standards and performance characteristics from the manufacturer. Some of which can enhance them as a race vehicle. Safety has always been our top priority at CFS as evidenced by our outstanding safety record over our 30 year history. We appreciate that Safety a function of many factors including speedway design, track egress and ingress, safety staff, equipment, run off and on, built in obstructions and more, including, of course, the race vehicle and its safety features. Since all cars are not created equal, safety for some is not necessarily safety for all. Therefore establishing clear guidelines to ensure that all cars comply with specific safety measures building on the cars manufactured characteristics is essential. At CFS we recognize all cars are not created equal and may require more or less safety enhancement to maintain a safe competitor experience and a fair playing field.

Maintaining Competitive Balance

Another challenge lies in keeping a competitive balance among the diverse range of vehicles. Certain cars might naturally have advantages over others. To solve this, the Bomber division could impose weight penalties or performance adjustments that help level the playing field. This strategy would help maintain the excitement and competitiveness that fans crave. We reserve the right to add rules that will ensure this competitiveness.

Engaging the Community

Feedback from Competitors and Fans

Involving the community is crucial for successfully expanding the Bomber division rules. Collecting insights from competitors and fans will shed light on which vehicles they want to see. Organizing forums or surveys can effectively gauge interest and ensure that implementations resonate with racing enthusiasts. We welcome your input.

Looking Ahead

Expanding the Bomber division rules to include a broader variety of domestic class cars up to 4.3-liter displacement presents an exciting opportunity for growth within the racing community. By embracing diversity in vehicle types, we can improve participation, competition, and audience appeal.

Moving forward, we must address safety concerns and ensure a competitive balance while actively engaging the community for feedback and support. The future of the Bomber division is promising, and with the right changes, we can create a more inclusive and exhilarating environment for all motorsport enthusiasts.

Tell us what you think. We appreciate your input.
