CFS KICKS OFF STOCK CAR SEASON

The 2021 season for stock car racing finally kicks off this Sunday, July 18th at the Shediac CENTRE for Speed. Races begin at 3 pm. There will be six divisions racing throughout the season contesting for both the Maritime Super Series (MSS)and CFS Track Championship titles. The divisions racing in the MSS kickoff event on Sunday include Sportsman, Street Stock, Mini Stock, Bombers, Ironmen and Bandoleros.

Track Operator Tim Wile noted "We are excited to finally get going with Stock Car Racing after last weeks big demolition event. With travel restrictions and vandalism at the facility, it has been a trying year so far. It will be nice to see the cars, drivers, team members and fans enjoy the passion many of us share for this motor sport."

Tom Nicholls who has been overseeing the promotion of the street stock division and commented "It's been a long wait but with 22 registered drivers it will be a very good show if the majority are able to show up and race. Covid and travel restrictions have seen most tracks alter their schedules with many racing on the same dates and or nights. With a limited number of weekends to go around, we are hopeful that we can get a strong car count to kick off the MSS."

L.J. Patterson Sales & Service are sponsoring the race event. Patterson Sales & Service is an RV, Marine and Agriculture dealership with 5 locations throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with their main location in Miramichi. To view their lineup of inventory go to their website www.ljpattersonsales.com or contact them at 1-506-778-8319.

For the Street Stock class, the race winner will receive $500. The registered drivers are also eligible for minimum guarantees on nightly payouts and are part of a $3,000 point’s fund.
