IRONMAN DIVISION (4 CYL)

The rules and/or specifications set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. By making an application for a competitor permit, it is deemed that the competitor agrees to become familiar with these regulations and abide by the directions set forth and prescribed by Management. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of, or compliance with these rules and/or specifications. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others.

This is the entry-level racing division.  These vehicles are intended to be Fun, Fast, and Inexpensive. The cost to build the typical "Ironman" vehicle should be less than $1000.  All vehicles should be “stock” to year, make and model with no modifications unless as stated below.  

​

BUILDING RULES

​

Any 4 Cyl  North American or European made Car.  No Mercedes or similar models.

​

No sports cars. No turbo-charged or all-wheel drives. No High performance models.  Call before you build to confirm your models eligibility.

​

No Turbo or Supercharger Models

​​

Must be 100% STRICTLY STOCK. Hood may be pinned and Battery may be moved to the firewall under the engine bonnet.​

​​

All glass must be removed, except the front windshield. Rear window may also remain in cars or 1/4 Tons. 

​​

Glass or other materials must not be removed at the Centre. Build it before you come. No broken glass allowed in the car.

​​

Minimum 3 points seat belt required.

​​

Rear seats must be removed.

​​

Interior door panels may be removed. Dash must remain and be unaltered.

​​

The driver door must be welded, chained, or tied shut. If the driver's door comes open during your race you are disqualified for the race.

Stock seat.

​​

The driver door must be reinforced with a minimum 1/4 inch thick and 12 inches in height steel plate extending past the driver's door (front and rear) by no more than 6 inches. The plate should be welded or bolted into the frame of the car.

​​

The bumper may be chained to the frame of the car.

​​

DOT Tires only.  No bigger (wider or higher) than 205 / 60 / 15 with no less than Minimum tread wear rating of 250. Traction rating of no more than single A.  No studded tires or "Single-Use" tires such as Mud OR Snow Tires.  Mud AND Snow tires are allowed.

All 4 tires and wheels on the car must be the same.   

​

Must use Steel Rims no wider than the original stock rim for your cars year, make, and model.  

​​

Minimum DOT approved Helmet required.  Snell Recommended.

​​

Cotton shirt and pants or coveralls required.

​​

Numbers will be assigned upon registration. Must be painted on at least 24 inches high on both doors and roof

​​

Pre-race tech inspection required. Cars may be handicapped at Tech's discretion.

​

Camber and caster may be adjusted within OEM specifications.

​

May have either:

​

H-Bar style roll cage with 1/4 inch x 10" x 30" steel plate on drivers door

​

or

​

3 or 4 point traditional roll cage with minimum of 3 driver door bars

​

2.5 lb minimum fire extinguisher in reach of the driver is required.

​

A scanner is recommended and must be tuned to the track frequency (TBA).
