MINI STOCK Outlaws (2012)
DEFINITION:
"STOCK"
For the purposes of this rule book and governing events at the speedway, the word "stock" means: - Available on stock passenger car models, from the car manufacturer, installed per the manufacturers specifications, with no modifications, visual or technical, stock appearing, stock performing unless as otherwise noted in this rule book. All items not mentioned are to be Stock.
INTENT
It is the intent to provide a class of cars which:
Are fast and challenging to drive but less expensive to build, operate and maintain while providing close and exciting competition for the fans and the competitors. The emphasis in this class will be placed on the driver, his crew and their setup and driving skills. This class will generally be considered for more experienced ThunderCat drivers who wish to move to a higher division but are not yet ready for a rear wheel drive division.
APPROVED MODELS
Any Stock front or rear wheel drive, four or six cylinder, passenger car model (ie. Must have also had a 4 dr model available from the Manufacturer) with lass than 170 HP and 170 Ft lbs of Torque per the Chilton specifications for that make and model. Minimum wheelbase of 103" and a maximum of 108"
Honda Preludes are protected as "grandfathered".
BODY
Stock.
All glass must be removed except windshield.
All doors must be welded and / or bolted shut.
A minimum 18" high 1/4" thick drivers side door plat, at drivers height, is mandatory.
All cars must begin the day with a complete body (hood, doors, fenders, trunk, etc.).
The top 8" of the Windshield must be kept open for the class sponsor. In addition the space behind the front right wheel and in fron to of the door numbers must be left open for contingency award sponsors. Must have a foront and rear tow hook or chain securely attached to the vehicle and easily accessible to track staff to allow for quick removal of your car from the track if it becomes disabled. Cars without this "quick hook" system will be moved to the infield until such time as it can be removed without impacting the event flow.
TRANSMISSION
Stock.
Rear wheel drive models must have a drive shaft hoop.
TIRES
Stock.
No snow tires or racing tires allowed. Maximum tire size allowed is per the following table:

All tires are subject to approval. All tires must be DOT approved and cannot have a tread wear rating less than 120. If either the DOT approved or tread wear rating is removed from the tire it will be deemed illegal. Tires including S, T or H speed rating permitted.
Wheels
Stock. Maximum width of 6” measured from bead seat to bead seat will be allowed. Maximum of 15 inch diameter. No intermixing of wheel size is permitted. Aftermarket racing wheels or lightened wheels are not allowed. Stock off-set only.
Aluminum wheels are allowed only on vehicles with less than 100 HP and must be from the same vehicle manufacturer as the type of car they are on.
SAFETY
Fuel cell and racing seat allowed but not required.
Steel marine tank, centered in trunk with PVC valve on vent line is acceptable. 8 gallon fuel cell also acceptable.
Steel 22 gauge fire wall to separate cell from driver required.
An H type roll bar with one horizontal pipe (per side) fastened to the roof and floor (with a sandwich plate) is required. Seat must be fastened to H bar in rear.
Dash may be removed.
A full "4 point" roll cage is recommended.
Cage may not have any forward bracing or cross bracing whatsoever. All tubing must be .095 standard steel and may be drilled by the tech for verification at any time.
The frame can not be lower than 7" to the ground at any point. Spring spacers may be used to raise the car for clearance purposes.
Window net is required.
Door plate must be carriage bolted into frame or securely welded to the car
Interior must be removed except drivers seat and dash.
Must have a safety shut off switch within easy reach of the driver and safety crews with the ON / OFF positions clearly marked.
Must have a minimum aircraft type seat belt with shoulder harness or a 4 point racing harness no more than 5 years old and non weathered.
Must have a properly charged fire extinguisher (minimum of 2.5 lbs) within reach of the driver.
Must have a drivers fire suit or fire retardant treated cotton overalls.
Must have your seat in original position, bolted to frame and connected to roll cage.
Rookies may use a rounded / opaque left side mirror a maximum of 5 inches in diameter in their first season.
No scoops or air dams.
No spoilers.
No glass except for the front windshield.
Battery may be repositioned anywhere within the car. Must be securely fastened and covered if in the drivers compartment.

ENGINE
Stock.
All engines in all models are to remain Stock and unmodified inside and outside.
Stock Ignition and Rad. Overflow tank required for Rad.
Stock fan.
Stock air box and filter.
No turbo or super charged engines.Original engine casting numbers must remain unaltered. If numbers are altered or unreadable, car will be rated as having the maximum horsepower for that make and model and weight will be added accordingly.
Compression must be STOCK for the make, model and year. Compression will be checked with all plugs removed and at wide open throttle. Final compression will be an average of all 4 cylinders.
WEIGHT
Maximum left side weight is 53%. Maximum rear weight is 45%. Cars with above 135hp per the Chilton specification must add 5lbs per horsepower over 135.
May not add weight
May not "gut" cars to reduce weight.
Body and Frame must remain stock
CFS reserves the right to add any amount of lead to any location and to make other changes to these rules at any time in order to keep the class competitive and fun for everyone.
SUSPENSION
Stock.
Suspension may not be adjusted in any way unless as described in this section. No components can be interchanged for those that are not stock. No modification of stock suspension locating points allowed. Camber may not exceed 2 1/2 degrees on the left side and 5 degrees on the right side (+ or -). No rear camber permitted. Maximum wheelbas permitted is 108" A single strut tower brace with a maximum of 1 ¾” 0.095 tubing may be used. No weight jacking devices of any type allowed. Car may not be lower then 5” from the ground at any point.
EXHAUST
Exhaust pipe(s) must be no more than 1 and 3/4 in outside diameter and exit passenger side 1 foot in front of rear wheel.
Stock Manifolds only.
No Headers or "header like" manifolds even if available stock.
MISCELLANEOUS
A speedway approved scanner is allowed but not required in this class. Any car with a scanner MUST report it to the Race Director and must have it tuned to the race control frequency at all times. A transponder must be purchased from the speedway if you wish to have your car scored. Please contact the speedway at 506 388-2415 to order your transponder.
