SEVENTY TEAMS MAKE WAY TO SHEDIAC FOR RAIN DATED EVENTS

RIVERVIEW, N.B. JULY 7, 2008 - CENTRE for Speed staff and teams pulled off an ambitious double header this past weekend and gained back some ground lost to the weatherman, earlier this season. Two previously rained out events were run including the first Maritime Super Series for Sportsman and the first Days of Destruction Series events. Both saw the largest car counts for their respective premieres in three years with more than 70 teams competing.

On Saturday, it was a night of smoke and mayhem as the first Day of Destruction this season got underway. The night featured several "crash and bang" events. Tommy Fitzgerald of PEI started and finished the night in winning fashion taking top honours in the Blind Reverse Race and Demolition while local competitors Mathieu Gallant took the checkered in the Full Contact Race and Chris Marcoux won the Soap Box Derby. In the Smoke Show competition it was Remi "Red Fisher"Gaudet who put on the best show including a disappearing act in his own tire smoke and blowing both tires off his ¼ Ton truck before he was done.

On Sunday the Maritime Super Series for Sportsman 100 saw 18 of the best competitors from the region throw their hats in the ring as fans were treated to some great racing including several lead changes throughout the event.   When it was all over, Saint John's, Calvin Rankin and his #45 Rankin Racing Team emerged victorious. CFS's Mike Power Jr. challenged Rankin for the lead during the later stages but Rankin held him off to the checkered flag. Defending Series Champ, Wayne Wormel finished off the top three. Claude Gaudet and Yves McRay each won qualifying heats.

In other racing on Sunday Don Marcoux of Saint Louis won the ThunderCat Heat and Feature followed by Eldon Campbell of Moncton and Phil Coombes of Shediac Bridge while Campbell took the Semi. Marc Sherwood of Dieppe won the Street Stock Heat and Gerard Doiron of Haute Aboujagane won the 50 lap Feature followed by Gary Stewart of PEI and Marc Sherwood.  Daniel Gautreau of Shediac was victorious in the TigerCats Heat and Semi while Gerald Brun of Irishtown took the feature followed by Gautreau and his brother Pierre Gautreau in third.

Racing returns to it's regularly scheduled Saturdays this weekend with the "Sun Chips Race to End Cancer". The event will feature a Maritime Super Series for Sportsman race with $2 from every ticket sold going to the Greater Moncton Hospitals to assist in their fight against cancer. Following the races on Saturday, the speedway will host a "Super Smoke Show" beginning at 10 PM. All proceeds from the Super Smoke Show will go to the creation of Metro Moncton's new Drag Racing facility at the speedway.

BRUN RECORDS GRAND SLAM WHILE LEBLANC PICKS UP
FIRST CAREER FEATURE WIN DURING SCHOOLS OUT CELEBRATION AT CFS
Young race fans were treated to some great stock car racing on Saturday evening at the Centre for Speed in nearby Barachois, N.B. as
Gérald Brun of Moncton had a perfect evening of racing picking up wins in the highly-competitive TigerCat heat, semi-final and 20-lap
feature aboard his Multi Radiator / Midway Auto Parts Prelude. It was also a night to remember for Jacques Leblanc of Bouctouche as
he recorded his first career feature win in the 4-cylinder Thundercat division.

Brun (#33) started mid-field in the 10-car TigerCat feature and quickly made his way to the front to take the lead for good on the fifth lap
from pole-sitter Brad Daley (#66) also of Moncton. While Brun had full control of the lead, a heated battle was on for the remaining top
positions. In the end, the two-car Gautreau team from Shediac claimed the second and third place position with Daniel taking second
and his brother Pierre in third.

In Thundercat division action, Dan Marcoux (#91) of St. Louis-de-Kent picked up wins in the 10-lap heat and semi-final, but had to settle
for second in the 20-lap feature behind Jacques Leblanc (#30) of Bouctouche. Marcoux was parked on Leblanc’s back bumper for most
of the event, looking for an opening on either the outside or inside for a pass. However, every time Marcoux would attempt a pass,
Leblanc had an answer. Eldon Campbell (#17) of Moncton had a front row seat for this exciting cat-and-mouse game crossing the stripe
in third after placing second in the semi and third in the heat.

It was a similar scenario in Streetstock division action with Mark Williams (#24) of Cocagne recording his first two wins in over two years
in the 10-lap heat and semi-final aboard his Barely Used Auto Parts Chevrolet before having to settle for second in the 20-lap feature.
Gérard Doiron (#15) of Haute Aboujagane continued his early season dominance of this division by capturing his third straight 20-lap
feature ahead of Williams and Gary Stewart (#43) of Emerald, PEI. Doiron also recorded two, second place finishes in the earlier heat
and semi to solidify his hold on the division points lead.

In Sportsman action, Mike Power (58x) of Salisbury, claimed his second feature in a row aboard his United Rentals Impala SS race car.
After placing third in the 10-lap heat behind winner Dan Bourque (#15) of Grande-Digue and defending division points champion, Luc
Bourgeois (#88) of Memramcook, Power put on quite a driving clinic in the 20-lap semi-final by grabbing the outside lane to pass a number
of cars as he charged his way to the front. Eventually, Powers got around Bourgeois with a few laps remaining to claim the win with Bourgeois
having to settle for second followed by Claude Gaudet (#22) of Barachois. With the track having cooled down considerably for the feature
race, Power had to instead use the inside lane to get around Bourgeois on lap 11, a lead he did not relinquish with Bourgeois claiming
second and Bourque taking third spot.

Finally, in first event of the season for the League of Outlaws Go-Kart division Marc-André Gauthier of Dieppe captured a close win in
the 20-lap feature to go along with his earlier 10-lap heat win. Meanwhile, Roger Marcoux of St. Louis-de-Kent took the checkered flag
in the 10-lap semi-final. The go-kart league is open to young drivers under 15-years of age,

POWER AND COOMBES RECORD FIRST WINS IN OVER TWO YEARS AT CFS

Phil Coombes and Mike Power Jr. captured their first feature wins in their respective divisions on Sunday afternoon during the Fathers’ Day stock
car racing event at the Centre for Speed in nearby Barachois, N.B., which marked the second points championship event of the 2008
season.

Power (58x) of Salisbury, who last captured a win as CFS a number of years back as a regular Streetstock competitor, started and
ended the day in victory lane aboard his United Rentals Impala SS Sportsman racecar. He captured the first race of the day, the Trophy
Dash, then took home the win in the 20-lap semifinal before withstanding the pressure of a few restarts in the 20-lap feature to capture
his first win of the season ahead of last week’s feature winner, Claude Gaudet (#22) of Barachois and the defending points champion,
Luc Bourgeois (#88) of Memramcook. Meanwhile, Bourgeois was first to cross the finish line in his Gautreau’s Used Auto Parts Ford
Fusion during the 10-lap heat ahead of Gaudet and Power.

In Thundercat Division action, the ‘milkman’ delivered as Phil Coombes (#15) of Shediac Cape also visited victory lane for the first time
in a few years by taking advantage of a late-race restart and disqualification to outdistance the field to the finish line. Coombes avoided
a late race collision involving the two front-runners, Wilfred Simon (#10) of Bouctouche and Jacques Leblanc (#30) from Shediac, to
capture the feature ahead of Simon and Eldon Campbell (#17) of Moncton. Last week’s dominant feature winner saw his day go up in
smoke as Denis Leblanc (#95) of Bouctouche blew his engine in the semi-final. The feature win for Coombes capped off a pretty good
day for Shediac Cape driver who can usually be seen racing around southeastern NB during the week delivering dairy products to
various homes and businesses. In fact, Coombes finished second in the heat to go along with a third place showing in the semi.
Meanwhile, Leblanc took home wins in the heat and semi-final before seeing the black disqualification flag fly in the feature for rough
driving.

In Streetstock action, Gérard Doiron (#15) of Haute Aboujagane continued his early season success by once again capturing the
20-lap feature to go along with his first place showing in the heat. The only blemish on Doiron's record so far this season is the win by Mark
Sherwood (#44) of Dieppe in today’s semi-final. Sherwood also come home second in the feature just ahead of Mark Williams (#24) of
Cocagne.

In the TigerCat division, Daniel Gautreau (#20) of Shediac took home first place hardware in both the 20-lap feature
and heat for his first two victories of the season. In the feature, it was almost a photo finish as Gautreau edged out Martin Landry (#00)
of Grand Barachois by a few mere centimeters at the stripe. Not far behind was Marcel Goguen (#77x) of Grande Digue in third. In the
20-lap semi-final, former division track champion, Gérald Brun (#33) was victorious ahead of Landry and Goguen.

Racing resumes at the
Centre for Speed, Greater Moncton’s Playground of Power, next Saturday evening, June 21st at 6:30 p.m. with the Schools Out
Celebration where all school-aged children will be admitted free of charge. The event will feature points championship racing in all
divisions as well as the first event of the season for the Winged Outlaw Go-Kart league, which is open to young drivers between 11 and
15 years of age. Front gates and grandstand will open at 5:30 p.m.

GOGUEN, DOIRON AND GAUDET ALL RECORD
GRAND SLAMS ON
LOUNSBURY CHECKERED FLAG OPENING DAY AT CFS

Marcel Goguen of Grande-Digue decided to get some seat time in a friend’s 4-cylinder TigerCat race car on Sunday afternoon and
it sure paid off on the Lounsbury Checkered Flag Day Season Opener at the Centre for Speed, the first of 23 stock car and motorsports
events to be presented at the CFS during 2008.

Goguen, who is still putting the finishing touches on his new Sportsman race car, got a call late this week from his long-time racing
buddy Michel Brun who offered him a ride in his back-up car for the season’s first event so he could get a little seat time and work out
his driving reflexes before he starts his new adventure as both a new dad and as a rookie in the top-notch Sportsman division over the
coming weeks.

Goguen gladly accepted and then simply went out and recorded a grand slam picking up wins in the 10-lap heat and semi-final before
recording his third win in the 20-lap feature ahead of sophomore Martin Landry (#00) of Grand Barachois and Josh Simon (#71) of
Bouctouche in the highly competitive TigerCat division.

Meanwhile, Claude Gaudet (#22) of Barachois showed that he is going to be a force to be reckoned with for the 2008 Sportsman division
Championship as he also recorded a grand slam with well-deserved wins in the 10-lap heat and semi to go along with an aggressive
win in the 20-lap feature. In the main event, Hubert Cormier (#3) of Bouctouche started on the pole and looked strong throughout the
event as he fought back challenges from Gaudet and others. With five laps remaining, he got a little loose coming out of turn four which
opened the door ever so slightly for Gaudet to muscle his way inside and eventually take over the lead for good. Cormier, who had to
settle for 3rd at the finish also saw last year’s track champion at Riverglade Speedway, Mike Power Jr. move ahead to take second place
hardware at the finish.

It was the same story in the Streetstock division as veteran driver Gérard Doiron (#15) of Haute Aboujagane was first across the stripe in
all three events claiming wins in the 10-lap heat and semi to go along with a first place finish in the 20-lap feature. Doiron, who is the
former 2005 Streetstock champ at CFS, edged out Gary Stewart (#43) of Emerald, P.E.I and Mark Sherwood (#44) of Dieppe in the feature.

In four-cylinder Thundercat action, rookie Denis Leblanc (#95) made an impressive debut aboard his new racecar claiming wins in the
10-lap heat and semi-final before having to settle for second in the 20-lap feature behind sophomore driver Don Marcoux (#91) of
St. Louis-de-Kent. Meanwhile, Marcoux’s nephew, Christopher Marcoux (#1) also had an impressive debut claiming third in the feature.

Racing resumes at the Centre for Speed, Greater Moncton’s Playground of Power, next Sunday, June 15th at 2:30 p.m. with the Father’s
Day Celebration, featuring points championship racing in all divisions. All fathers accompanied by one of their children will be admitted
for half price to this event. Front gates and grandstand will open at 1:30 p.m.
